Hi Everyone.

 

Trusty 1.9 tdi Galaxy 2000 - W Reg - Central Locking , Electric windows and electric Mirrors wont work.

Have checked all fuses and have checked for broken wires - all to no avail !! ECU not under seat on this model !!

What shall i check next - any ideas ??

Have you checked under the carpet for water? I had a similar problem on my x reg, where the control unit is under the dash. Turned out that the water had got into the wiring loom and corroded every solder joint it came near, took a few hours of splicing new wires in. The water was coming in through the clips that hold the covers in place by the windscreen wipers on the nearside.

Hi there and welcome to the site.

 

When you say you checked for broken wires im assuming your talking about drivers door trunking, you really need to be quite thorough here as there may be wires broken with insulation still intact you need to feel each wire separately, breakages here are a common problem

I have a 1.9 tdi 03 plate with exactly the same fault, if you resolved the prob I would v interested & grateful if you can let me know what you did.

i would recheck all wires in all doors before doing anything else.

Thanks it was a broken wire, fat brown one and it has been repaired before along with a couple others. Cheers
